The PuriFarr® Wayside Fuel Filter is ergonomically designed and more economical to operate than single-stage filter systems, or tank-type coalescer/separators. Filters are installed horizontally, so there are no problems of lifting and handling heavy vertical elements. No need for hydraulic jacks or cranes to open housing covers.
Clean diesel fuel is more critical than ever to protect today's locomotive size engines from premature wear and prolong the life of on-board fuel filters. Installed in railroad "wayside" fueling stations and other diesel refueling locations, PuriFarr filter systems form a first line of defense to remove the contaminants that build up during storage and transfer of fuel. This minimizes fuel-related problems and provides enhanced protection to electronic fuel injectors and other sensitive components.
The PuriFarr Wayside Fuel Filter:
- Is designed for reliable, trouble-free operation.
- Rugged housing better withstands water hammer and pressure surges, reducing the need for shock absorbers.
- Delivers clean diesel fuel to engines - reducing problems.
- Prolongs life of on-board fuel filters.
- ASME housing withstands high pressure for reliability.
- Elements install horizontally for safer, easier service.
- Is available with elements in two high efficiencies.
- High dirt-loading capacity for long service life.
Engineering studies show that microfine contaminants in the 1-10 micron size range are the most damaging to diesel engines. PuriFarr elements feature a dual-stage design that contains several times the media area of conventional single-stage filters. This design yields high efficiencies in the critical 1-10 micron range. It has a superior dirt-holding capacity for a long service life. Filed data shows that PuriFarr elements can filter millions of gallons of fuel between changeouts.
