The Camfil Farr Oil Bath filter provides reliable protection for all types of engines where requirements make an oil bath installation desirable. It has been designed to give the maximum of filtering area within the smallest possible space and yet perform efficiently under the severe operating conditions encountered in the railroad industry.
The Oil Bath combines the highly efficient viscous impingement principle of contaminant removal with a thorough oil scrubbing action which assures high efficiency at all times and at all engine speeds, from idle to full throttle.
The Camfil Farr Oil Bath Filter:
- Control baffle permits the oil droplets to wash to the top of the media throughout the entire range of air demand.
- Pressure drop remains practically constant during normal operating periods.
- Rectangular design reduces space requirements to a minimum in relation to the amount of air handled per unit.
- Exclusive positive seal design prevents any chance of oil bypass which can result in extensive engine damage.
- Eliminates manifolding of the air introduction system, at a substantial saving in installation costs.
- Is designed for installation in existing vertical panel filter holding assemblies, without extensive rework.
- Media is constantly scrubbed in a bath of oil, which returns collected dirt to the sump.
- Only service required is the periodical draining or dirty oil, removal of sludge and refilling with clean oil.
- Servicing may be accomplished without removing filter from assembly and distrubing the seal.
Laboratory tests using standardized fine air cleaner test ducts show the efficiency of the Camfil Farr Oil Bath to be equal to or better than the standard 4" 44-68 Panel Filter or the highly efficient self cleaning Rotonamic Air Cleaner. Pressure loss is approx. 5" w.g. at rated capacity.
