The Camfil Farr Diffuser/Pack® is an inline housing that removes turbulence from forced airflows and uniformly distributes the air throughout the full breadth of the air distribution system. The Diffuser/Pack is an excellent choice for those applications where component space may have been limited and where the basics of good airflow design may have been compromised.
Designed primarily for the positive side of the fan, the Camfil Farr Diffuser/Pack is installed in the same fashion as the filter housing. At 500 feet per minute face velocity the equivalent re-directional reaction is the equivalent of three duct lengths from an abrupt airflow turn. Each Camfil Farr Diffuser/Pack includes:3
- 16-gauge galvanized steel construction. All components are weatherproof for interior or exterior installation.
- A short line depth of only 12" conserving valuable space for other HVAC system components.
- Pre-drilled standing flanges to mate to existing HVAC equipment.
- An angled diffuser plate with 51% open area. The angle and open area contribute to static regain. At 500 feet per minute velocity the total resistance to airflow across the unit is less than 0.10" w.g.
The Diffuser/Pack may also be applied directly upstream of specific HVAC components. It can ensure that filters load evenly and operate at design velocity thus increasing their service life and performance. The Diffuser/Pack ensures uniform airflow across heating/cooling coils for efficient fin heat transfer thereby promoting energy savings.
