Camfil Farr Sweden has received an order from Fläkt Woods
in Sweden for ATEX-classed filters for the oil producer Total
Fina. The filters will be used in Fläkt Woods air handling units
that will be installed on a floating oil platform.
The order, consisting of approximately 400 Hi-Flo F9
filters and 650 Camplis G4 pre-filters, will be supplied by
Camfil Switzerland and France.
ATEX is the name commonly given to the framework for
controlling explosive atmospheres and the standards of equipment
and protective systems used in them. It is based on
the requirements of European Directives, of which the latest
is EU 1999/92/CE, which concerns sparking in explosive
environments.
ATEX-certified filters are typically used in explosion hazard
zones, such as petrol stations, oil depots, oil platforms and in
environments where chemicals are handled. Today, Camfil Farr
has eight ATEX-certified filters in its product range, including
Hi-Flo, Sofilari, Opakfil and Camplis.
