Energy and Air Quality Rating System Introduced for Camfil Farr filters in Europe

Camfil Farr's new system eliminates the difficulty of choosing the right filter and uses a classification system that is a simple as seven letters - A to G - to rate them on the basis of their proven efficiency and energy benefits. It is similar to the type of colour-based energy ratings used for household appliances in some countries, with A standing for the top rating and G for the lowest.

"The new quality and rating system is completely transparent and gives customers the data and facts they need for choosing the right filter. Filter and energy efficiency in real-life conditions was an essential parameter in developing the system and the ratings for our products have been independently verified in long-term tests performed by an accredited international research institute," says Jan Andersson, European Comfort segment manager at Camfil Farr.

Energy accounts for a substantial percentage of an air filter's total life cycle cost and the rating system is part of Camfil Farr's ongoing efforts to conserve energy in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. The company already produces the most efficient air filters on the market and the new Energy and Quality Rating System further guarantees that customers select the most economical filters at the desired filtration efficiency for their particular application.

The new concept is explained in further detail on the country websites of Camfil Farr's European companies and in a brochure available from Camfil Farr. On websites, customers can also test the energy efficiency of filters with an online selection tool.
