Camfil Farr makes a large range of onboard fuel filter housings for both new and older locomotives using both the modern 10" diameter fuel filter elements and the older 6.5" diameter elements.
The Model 200 housings whcih are suitable for fuel pressures up to 100 PSIG have a patented cover design which does not require tools to change filter elements.
The On Board Fuel Oil Filter Housing:
- Is avaiable with special designs such as integral heating jackets, relief valves, etc.
- Models 10, 21 and 22 fuel filter housings have bolted covers with design pressures as required by the fuel system.
Abrasive particles in fuel are the major reason for fuel injector wear and premature failure. Higher injection pressures and tighter clearances make fuel cleanliness more critical than ever for injector life. Contaminated fuel is also a major contributor of power assembly wear with the other sources of abrasive particles being the combustion air and the lubricating oil. The two-stage filter element traps first the larger particles and finally the smaller particles that penetrated the first stage filter media to give you the best injector and engine protection available for diesel engines.
