Camfil Farr Flex-Joints have been used on railroads for over twenty years with more than ten thousand installations. They are now a standard purchase item on over fifteen railroads across North America.
The single ply construction with no welding around the circumference eliminates failures due to metal fatigue in "heat affected zones" of other flex joints which depend on welded flanges. No internal sleeves or baffles are used in the Camfil Farr Flex-Joint.
Camfil Farr Flex-Joints:
- Feature free floating flanges and two slotted bolt holes making installation simple in either direction between manifolds.
- Replacement costs are less expensive due to reduced manpower requirements, longer life and part replacement.
- Flat machined surface on the outer circumference of both flanges, simplifies installation with proper heat shield clearance.
Camfil Farr Flex-Joint Kits will help eliminate leaking band clamp connections on the exhaust manifolds of Roots blown EMD engines. Flex-Joint flanges are welded to the existing manifolds. Kits are supplied with all necessary part and installation instructions.
